DoggCatcher is a podcast downloader app for the myTouch and Android. This is a surprisingly polished and advanced app for what you might consider a simple feature. The basic functionality will take a podcast’s RSS feed and automatically download the podcast to your myTouch. The app is pretty intelligent in working with battery life – it can limit downloads based on your connection speed and you can set your own download limits under settings. The intelligence carries on into other features – DoggCatcher can recommend podcast feeds based on your current playlist. It also aggregates the most popular podcasts listened to by other DoggCatcher users.Â
 
This is one of the more feature-packed myTouch apps. The app lets you import existing podcast feeds, lets you search for new feeds from within the app, and can stream audio directly through the network if you prefer (i.e. no download required). The app lets you organize and play podcasts and remembers last-played positions. It supports video playback and can display images related to the podcast. You can have the app automatically delete media files after a set period once you’ve viewed them. DoggCatcher is a full-featured podcast app for the myTouch, and whether you’re learning a new language or like to listen to podcasts on the metro, this is the app for you.
